　　《拉里·金现场秀》已近25年。据他本人介绍，这是同一时段播出并由同一人主持的最长寿节目。拉里·金告别CNN的黄金档节目后，就有更多时间去观看少年棒球联盟（一个位于美国的国际性非营利运动组织）的比赛了，而CNN也可乘此机会做一下内部调整。20年前，CNN出现并成为电视产业中的“叛逆者”。当时，在自负的掌门人——泰德·特纳的领导下，CNN的建台基于这样一个出发点：人们希望能全天候随时收看到新闻和评论节目。这一点在如今的网络时代显得再正常不过，但在当时CNN的这种做法还是比较新潮的。如今每当重大新闻发生时，许多美国人的第一反应还是打开电视收看CNN。（英语原文刊于7月2日C14版）

　　本文的难点在于对“Then owned by...”这一句话的理解：很多读者把then理解成“然后”，这里应该是“那时”的意思；a radical premise that has come to seem obvious在来稿中有各种不当翻译，按照参考译文那样理解应较为妥当。
